We had a fire in our apartment building last week, and were required to stay at a motel for 5 days during cleaning and inspection. I once caused a fire with a cigarette. It didn't get past my suite, but it was of deadly potential.
If you smoke, don't imagine that you 'have what it takes' to stay awake while you are doing it. The best of us nod off.
Apart from the one feline death, we are all alive, thanks exclusively to the fire department. We were minutes from a very major calamity.
